Quick, simple and delicious desserts that look and taste like you’ve spent ages in the kitchen? Well, I’ve got you covered with this one. These frozen chocolate & blueberries delights are the perfect Summertime treat to serve for a little afternoon indulgence or after dinner dessert. They’re literally SO quick and easy to make; as well as only requiring a few ingredients and a food processor.
The base if the recipe is basically a banana ice cream, with added cacao and freeze fried blueberry powder for that extra kick of flavour! These are actually two of my favourite and most frequently used powders- I definitely don’t need to reiterate my love for cacao powder to you! Literally.. this stuff goes in practically everything! Hot chocolates, porridge, baking, home made chocolate, smoothies, granola.. and I’m just getting started there! The berry and chocolate combination work so well to create that balance of rich, chocolatey decadence, with little bursts of sweet and tangy berry flavour.
These dreamy little pots of decadence are ultra creamy, chocolatey and indulgent, whilst still being made from a selection of healthy and wholesome ingredients. I remember a time when I would be anxious about eating a banana, as I simply saw this as a source of carbohydrates and sugars. Whilst yes, bananas do contain both of these things.. that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Bananas are also a good source of many other nutrients, including potassium. I love including them in my smoothies, porridge, snacks and healthy baking recipes to add moisture and natural sweetness. Banana slices topped with peanut butter is just the dreamiest combination, is it not?! You’ve gotta’ love a nice of toast topped with some good old banana and PB.
